It’s our last holidays of the season so let’s go out with a bang…or a boom…fireworks, let’s have lots of fireworks is what I mean (I’m tired)!

We’d like to wish a Happy Canada Day to our neighbors in the North on July 1st! Come visit the special holidays area to check out some of the Canadian sites, and pick up some souvenirs and your limited edition holiday map while you’re there! There will be fireworks displays throughout the day to celebrate.

For us in the States, come celebrate American’s Independence Day on July 4th with us, where we’ll basically be celebrating the exact same way we do for Canada Day so if you’re busy with family on one holiday or the other you won’t miss anything 🙂

Come visit Old Glory for some traditional American classics, and don’t forget your limited edition holiday map

And of course we will also host firework displays throughout the day for this one as well.

We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday(s). Remember to practice firework safety!

This St Patricks Day on SAMC, we decided to give you a wee tour of some monuments from
West Cork, Ireland where our Admin GardenSavvy lives.

The first of the three monuments is Drombeg Stone Circle. It’s on the outskirts of Savvys
local town, Rosscarbery and is a heritage site dating back to the Bronze Age. 13 of the
original 17 stones still stand today and during winter and summer solstice the area becomes
gridlocked with locals and visitors visiting the circle, also called the Druids Altar. Nearby the
circle is the remains of two primitive huts and a cooking hearth. The circle was restored in
1957 and during that excavation, remains were found that dated back to roughly 1100 BC.

The next monument you can wander through is a remake of the Timoleague Friary which was
founded in 1240 and closed in 1631. It is a Franciscian Friary, one of the few with remains
still standing in Ireland. The grounds are an a mass of graves nearly overlapping each other
with stones dating back to the 1600s and as recently as 2004. There used to be an
underground passage to the waters edge to receive goods, and the entry for that passage is
visible while walking the grounds. The bell tower was added later to the building and still
stands.

The final monument for you to peak at is the Baltimore Beacon. While it’s lacking in wow
factor in the minecraft world, the beacon stands a top a steep cliff with a long drop to the sea
below with stunning views from the edge. It’s creation was ordered after the 1798 rebellion
by the British Government and is one of many beacons and lighthouses dotted along the
coastline as a warning system. It’s nicknamed Lots wife as it looks like a pillar of salt. It
looks over the entrance to the Baltimore harbour, a fishing town and the ferry point to some
of the outlying islands like Sherkin Island, and a whale watching site for Minke Whales and
dolphins.

In the holiday area you’ll find all three monuments, a wishing well for a wee Irish Blessing
and a small cottage with a villager with goodies for ye. Wishing you all a Happy Paddys
Day! Drink your Guinness responsibly <3 🙂

See you then, and have a happy and safe Halloween!

Happy Father’s Day to our favorite gamer dads! We’ve got a special holiday area dedicated to you this year!

As a work from home dad Serverus doesn’t get a lot of quiet time. So instead of the the tradition of spending all day with your kids (which he does every day), he enjoys Father’s Day OFF. While I occupy the kids, he gets to enjoy some gaming on his own without the constant nagging from the offspring. With gaming in mind, we’ve decided to create a classic gaming holiday area for you!

Click the button on your way in to the maze to spawn the ghosts Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde. They’re guaranteed to drop a very special power pellet if you can catch them before they catch you.

(Luckily for you they are a bit distracted by the villager at first, but he’s safe from their grasp. Once they target you they’ll be after you. And be warned, Keep Inventory is OFF).

Make your way to the mid section of the maze to visit our holiday villager and pick up your collector’s map courtesy of _Ayana_ from our Crazy Map Ladies!
Note: you do not need to spawn the ghosts to get your holiday souvenirs, they just add a bit of adventure and an additional prize.

In honor of the maze there is an additional Pac Man map…

and so that no dad feels left out, we have the kids drawing for Dad courtesy of clumsypixie.

However you choose to spend Father’s Day we hope it’s a great one!

Your Admin Team

Easter is almost here so it’s time for our annual Easter Head Hunt!

For those who are new let me explain the idea behind the “head hunt” which sounds totally morbid, but really is a lot of fun. We’ve considered using mob spawn eggs in the past, but with mob griefing a concern on NuNu we don’t want anyone accidentally blowing up a community building or neighbors property. Unfortunately dying eggs on Minecraft isn’t a thing yet either, and aside from putting them in chests or hanging in items frames we can’t really hide them so we’ve had to improvise. We’ve done this event for several years and everyone always loves to find and trade the heads they find.

This year we’ll be hosting on NuNu in the new Villager Mall. Run and explore the new building while looking for all your neighbors special head blocks, and several other fun heads to collect. We used the names of players who have signed up on the birthday doc so if you would like your head to be hidden also you still have time to sign up (make sure your name is case sensitive and spelled exactly as your gamer tag or your head won’t match your skin).

The holiday area is open now and will be until Monday, April 17th. Don’t forget to visit the holiday villagers, the Easter Bunny, and the Easter Buddy for your holiday treats!

and pick up your holiday collectors map courtesy of KismetFoxFire of our Crazy Map Ladies! As always, thank you for the beautiful map!

We’ll see you Friday, April 14th at 8pm EST on NuNu. All players must be whitelisted to play.

Happy Easter!
