Happy Independence Day!

You know we love holidays on the server, but honestly, summer is kicking our butts! Between admins moving, kids being home from school, and various summer activities, we are exhausted. So let’s celebrate the last holiday of the summer with a BANG! Literally! If your town is seriously lacking in a decent fireworks display (like mine is) come watch the firework show with us!

(Note: I know there’s Labor Day but we’ve never done anything on the server for it)

The holiday areas are all decorated for the 4th of July complete with villagers giving away sparklers (don’t forget your sticks to trade).

There are lots of other goodies for you too, check out the custom holiday banners made by IrishPippin

and stop by the food truck for some real American BBQ! (Minecraft style of course)

Firework displays will be held at various days and times over the weekend with official ones on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th, at 8:00pm EDT on NuNu and 8:15pm EDT on Main. If you’ve never seen our Main Fourth of July event area you MUST come see it! There are lots of fireworks and goodies to give away, a beautiful and interactive rollercoaster, and fireworks display. You’ll definitely want to pop over for that.

And of course you’ll want to grab your Holiday Collector’s Map made special by _Ayana_ of the Crazy Map Ladies. She has done an outstanding job. Her skills amaze us all!

It’s CANADA DAY!

Happy birthday Canada! We didn’t want to leave you guys out of the holiday weekend so “Elyntia” will be giving away special “Canada Day” sparklers and Canadian flags.

Happy holidays everyone. We hope you have lots of fun, friends, family, and fireworks this weekend. Remember kids, SAFETY FIRST! Fireworks can be dangerous, and It’s hard to use those WASD keys with no fingers!

Memorial Day 2016

This Monday is Memorial Day so we wanted to pay special tribute to our of the veterans who play with us on the server, and to also thank all of the brave men and women who have given their lives for our country. Thank you.

While you’re out enjoying this long weekend with friends and family, remember to take a moment to appreciate the people who continue to fight for our freedoms.

The holiday areas are open on both servers and as usual we have some goodies for you.

St. Patrick’s Day 2016!

Feeling Lucky? Come join our St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on both Some Awesome Minecraft servers for a chance to win a prize!

Both Holiday Areas have a Pot’o’Gold where you can grab 1 “Lucky Coin” to rename with your IGN & toss into the Wishing Well. On Friday, March 18th, we will draw a random winner from those coins on both servers! The winner on each server will get to choose 1 item from the Creative Mode inventory.
On Main, that *does* include some very special new items!
(Only 1 entry per player, extra entries will be removed.
Only one prize per winner, the same player cannot win on both servers.)

Halloween 2015: Haunted Maze & Trick or Treat Event

Come and join us on NuNu to celebrate Halloween with Trick or Treating and a maze game night! There will be a CB from the holiday area near CT.

We will have two event runs for the maze with prizes:

Saturday, October 24th at 9 PM EST/8 PM CST
Sunday, October 25th at 10 AM EST/9 AM CST

Prizes will only be given to those who are brave enough to enter and FINISH the Halloween maze during the event time. After that, if you are willing to enter the belly of the beast on your own, do at your own risk (and with no prize).

For those who finish the maze during the event, you may have your choice of either a Zombie Horse or a Skeleton Horse!

Rules:
1) No jetpacks
2) No mini maps (mods) or maze help of any kind
3) Enter at your own risk! There will be beds available to set your bed spawn
4) Prepare to be scared and wary of false starts

For those that are not brave, there is also a mob museum to check out. Come one, come all and be sure to be dressed in your Halloween costume!

Don’t forget to bring plenty of sticks and emeralds for Trick or Treat villager trading.

Summon the Wither

Come join us as we open the Wither Summoning Room on the NuNu server!
(A room made of bedrock to minimize the destruction the Wither will cause.)

We will have supplies available for all who attend to summon their own Wither Boss & combat it for the chance to get your Nether Star drop!

Start gearing up & prepare your XP for the chance of death. 😉 Make sure all your achievements are unlocked & caught up to get the Wither Achievements: The Beginning? & The Beginning.

**Reminder: if you are making beacons afterward, please keep them spaced to no less than 100 blocks apart & preferably only 1 active beacon per player.

MiniBuilders – A History

One of the most important parts are the littlest ones in our community, the kids! With that in mind, Mini Builders was created in late 2013. The first build challenge was a way to make the Mini Builders area on main a place of their own, by building houses on a 20×20 plot.

After working on the outside of houses, the second challenge stepped inside for an interior design challenge. For this new challenge, the kids competed in age groups 5-10 and 11-16 as they decorated hotel rooms in the grand Mini Builder Hotel.

The third challenge ushered in the holiday season with a Holiday challenge. We saw some really creative holiday builds like a snowman, Christmas tree, candy canes and Santa Hat houses.

The fourth challenge was a team challenge. The red team and the blue team competed for a farming challenge. The teams had to build a farm and simply farm as much as the other team to win!

The fifth challenge brought some fun life to the Mini Builders area with the creation of the mini market. Each mini builder built a shop on a 15×15 plot. The kids got really creative and made stone, cake and many other shops. Following the build of the market, the mini builders took on the water with a boat challenge. As usual, there were some really creative builds and lucky for the kids, all the boats float!

As mini builders started warming up, we took a step forward on educating the children on Minecraft and created the Hogwarts School of Mining and Crafting. It is a “must visit” on Main if you have never seen it. Besides being a totally awesome build, it is a central location for everyone on the server, old and young, to visit as a reminder or learning for the first time, all the recipes that make all the things in Minecraft.

A few fun mini game builds popped up in the Mini Builders area as well as a vault for the kids to store their items. Mini Builders also opened up to everyone on the server. Last summer, we invited the mini builders to a Summer Sandbox Challenge. With limited resources, each child had to be extra creative with what they built and they did not disappoint!

With NuNu, came a new challenge and a new Mini Builders area. Mini Builders 2 was born and the first challenge mirrored Main with a house challenge.

It has been a little while since we have done a Mini Builders and with summer upon us, expect a big announcement soon! We cannot wait to see what these kids can do.
