Category: Featured Build

Sometimes, you get an idea that is so strong, and so clear in your head, it stays with you. Every time you log into Minecraft, you see the things you want to build, but not have the resources, the time, or whatever the reason it is, real life gets in the way. I nearly went mad and lost my head, completely bonkers trying to wait until I could get this out of my brain and into the game!

Last year was like that for me. I mentioned this idea to Torimili and Serverus back in January of 2016, and then went through several physical IRL moves last year, and things in my virtual happy world were shifted to the side.

January of 2017 though, I figured I was good to go for a bit, settled into this chunk of topside, and once again pitched the idea to the dynamic server deities who make our lives perpetually [even if only virtually so!] happy and fulfilled.

Elyntia and I wandered off in search of some fun potential places to start this epic lil undertaking, and after I had logged for the night, she had come across a place that she figured might be perfect. I logged in the next day to see my very own monument. *squeal* Yes, I have been on NuNu since DAY ONE, and have memories galore of times, events, places, players, etc. I’ve helped three people with their monuments, never to claim one as my own though.

So I did it. I claimed the monument, and the moment I had planted that flag (okay, it was a sign with clumsypixie typed on it!), a surge of adrenaline filled me. THIS IS THE PLACE. THIS… this monument, was going to be so so much more.

Torimili, Elyntia, and myself (all in survival mode) decided to have our fun and cleaned out the monument over the course of a weekend (technically we started on a Thursday evening, but it was done by the Sunday night). We laughed. We had so much fun. We streamed (I think we streamed it? I know we recorded it for sure).

I came on the next day, and was given the special permission to have access to the creative (not admin) inventory, because what I had proposed was something that wasn’t going to be a miniature or quickly created entity. If you’ve ever been to any of the things I have created/co-created, you’ll know that nothing I build is ever tiny. By the end of the first week, the base was constructed, and there was so much left to do. In fact, there still IS a lot to do, but that’s where I now need to reach out and ask for helpers.

Before I go on, I really need to shine the light on those who have lent a minute or a year of Minecraft time to helping me create this vision, and see it come to fruition.

To the Server deities who allowed this crazy pixie to run amok on their server and believe in my vision: Serverus and Torimili; The geniuses behind the maps: _Ayana_ ((who also gets mad credit for helping me so many times I’ve lost count, built the rail around the 2nd floor, and gave me more encouragement than I realised I needed when I wanted to pack up and just stop)) and KismetFoxFire;

The admins, who tirelessly copied and pasted and filled and fixed and created things for everyone to someday smile at: Elyntia, GardenSavvy, and dancingn27; and The three I volunteered for the tasks and who rose to the challenge of support, creative input and implementation, and all round awesomeness: Irish_Pippin, and the amazing duo of Elfueygo and Sarindre.

I should thank my cats as well, because I worked well past their dinner, several times during the last two plus months in creating this.

And yes, everything you see here has happened since January 10, 2017. Every map, ever banner, every eye, ever track, every ceiling, every rosebush… it’s fun to watch these people come over to see the build (and help with a new area/fix something/add something) each time, and be flabbergasted at the amount of work put in.

This is a labour of love. It is something that I wanted to give to Some Awesome all along, and I hope this is the start of the desire for others to want to do EPIC builds on NuNu and create new, lasting, fun, amazing memories with old and new friends alike. I give you, your trip down the rabbit hole, into the mind of the clumsypixie, and hope that you want to stay in Wonderland so much, that it becomes a permanent “must do” thing on your Minecraft daily-do’s.

With love,

Pixie
________

P.S. I need about 5-10 people who want to work – we have areas on each level that still need to be completed, but can be easily done in survival mode – there are a couple that have some supplies to ensure that the consistency of the level is maintained, but there are four levels that do not have supplies yet. If we find there are a lot of the exact same request, we can probably easily help everyone out.

You get a special participation keepsake as well. And my undying appreciation and thanks.
________

Now, for the “rules” such as they are: Please don’t destroy what’s there. If you have an idea to fix or change something that is already in place, please message me (Sera Merrin) privately and if we’re not friends on fb, make sure to tag me in a post so I know to check my message requests.

There are six levels: I’ve utilised every single block from 1-256. Trust me; I wish it were more, especially for antennae!!

THESE ARE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED PARTS

TOP: singing pansies, possibly Humpty, and other things to fill in the ground area. ***REDSTONE for the trap door***

Dark Forest: mushies, creatures from Alice (since this likely the only Alice build, I’m going to say you can pull from any of the stories – but if possible, try to stick with the Wonderland specific parts, rather than anything that has been altered by say Once Upon A Time television show story line), more trees, and hiding spots – there’s a special reason I’m requesting that particular goodie.

Mad’s Tea Party – THE TEA PARTY – and yes, the floor and ceilings and walls are 100% done and we just need the table and Mad Hatter and fun goodies on the table and around the area.

Flamingo Ice Rink – Two issues I should address here: one, I didn’t want a PVP area that was potentially going to hurt anyone, as we have a special PVP area (remember that awesome build we got to do last year!?) and two, there are as yet no croquet mallets, flamingos, or ways to play croquet or giant chess at the moment. So I figured we could design it like the flamingo area (but with ice and fun blocks instead) and have a snowball fight arena! There are boxes (please don’t remove them) for this level for continuity of blocks used.

Queen’s Level – There’s not much left to do here, but there are a few things. There’s a huge section under the palace that needs to be dealt with, and there are supplies available for that. The Queen, her two guards (a spade and a heart) need to be created as well, but they do not have to match the two that are at the back of the palace. Her throne needs to be constructed inside the palace, and yes, there is limited space, but I think there is more than enough room for a grand throne.

Basement – Faux doors that will give the impression of MORE options and the table and chair with EAT/DRINK/OPEN/TAKE me items.

I hope you like this trip into Wonderland!

Welcome to Featured Builds, a new segment where we will feature a different build on one or both servers. This edition will feature the SAMC Banks and their amenities.

bank collage

You may have seen our extravagant bank on Main, but if you haven’t visited it recently you’re in for a surprise! It’s had a bit of a remodel and a few new added features.

Do you have too many iron ingots but what you really need are diamonds? Visit the Bank Teller ToRiMiLi who will be happy to assist you with ore exchanges. Dancingn27 will be delighted to assist you with your emerald needs, and Akumo will gladly trade you for some rare blocks including sponges!

tellers

Serverus has some unique trades for you requiring special tokens that you can only acquire from our XP shops. Through him you can buy rare items such as the Elytra, the Dragon Head, Dragon’s breath, and a new one…Dragon Eggs!

Rare Tokens: 25 XP levels
Treasure Tokens: 50 XP Levels

Note: You will also need Purpur blocks for trades with Serverus

dragon eggs

You will also notice that the vault has been reopened. Inside you will find the new XP shop where you my purchase the tokens needed for Serverus. No more unnecessary travel to three different locations in order to complete your transaction. Enchanted books will still be available at the original XP Shop, but Rare Item and Treasure Tokens can now be bought inside the bank as well.  You’re welcome!

vault

Now those are all features we’ve already seen in the bank on Main, but what we haven’t had here until now are our Armor and Tools exchanges. We had such a positive reaction from this feature on NuNu so we’ve brought it over to the bank on Main as well. Visit one of our four new bank staff members, Elyntia, WickedCake, _Ayana_, and JP_Zilla who will be happy to trade in all those mob armor drops and old tools that have been building up that you have no idea what to do with. If you can hold out for /repair you get even more value for your trade-ins as all trades must be at 100% durability.

armor exchange

The bank on NuNu features the armor and tool trades only since ores aren’t nearly as rare over there. It is located in the Market down the East road. Just go through the village and over the bridge to find it. Rare and Treasure Tokens may also be purchased in the bank there on the lower level. Just take the stairs located next to Serverus. You will also find that he has added Dragon Eggs to his list of purchasable items on NuNu as well.

Rare Tokens: 25 XP levels
Treasure Tokens: 50 XP Levels

Note: You will also need Purpur blocks for trades with Serverus

Please enjoy, and by all means take advantage of this wonderful feature available to you on the servers.

If you have any suggestions for useful features or builds, feel free to submit them to us through our contact form.

Welcome to the NuNu Server Market!
If you are interested in opening a shop on this server, please read through the following (don’t skip ahead!) so you can become a Market expert.

Market Center

Who can open a shop?

~Anyone! While everyone gets excited during the opening of the Markets, we know it can be difficult to pick what to sell, what to charge for trade, how to set it all up, and stocking up on inventory. So we suggest you take some time to figure out what you have the resources & time to provide as products or services before jumping in. Don’t worry, we have lots of space in this Market.

~Our server kids need to have an active adult player “sponsor” their shop. This means if a child wants to open a shop, they need to team up with an adult who is willing to be responsible for making sure orders are filled. The adult can be the contact for getting tagged in the Facebook group when an order is submitted. (Adults can still have their own separate shop.)

What shops can we open?

~Shops should have a specific product type, theme, or service. No catch-all, or “everything” shops.

~Shops selling the same types of products or services are allowed. However, we suggest not building too close to a competing shop.

Suggested plots are laid out.

Suggested plots are laid out.

Where do I start?

~The pre-made plots have a border of jack-o-lanterns that show a suggested size. Your shop doesn’t have to be that size or shape, but be mindful of the neighboring plots that you don’t crowd them, or block them from the paths & roads.

~There is no height or depth limit, however if you dig out a basement for your shop, please stay under your own build/shop area so there aren’t conflicts of neighboring shops’ basements. If you build tall, please do not build over the top of other shops/spaces without the owner’s or admin’s permission.

~Do not go mining under the Market.

~Please always have your shop area labeled with your IGN & real name so people know who to tag in the group regarding questions or orders. Kids’ shops should have the kids’ IGN, the adult sponsor’s IGN, & the adult sponsor’s real name for tagging (kids don’t need to provide real names).

~If for any reason you will not be able to run your shop for a period of time, please have a sign on the outside of your shop, letting others know you will not be filling orders.

Market Location Info:

Outer market wall

Outer market wall

~The Market is surrounded by a wall, 250 blocks from the center.
–  Do not build against the wall. Please leave some space and do not place any blocks directly against the wall.
–  Do not go past the wall for building or exploration. We chose a location away from most builds so that we have the option of expanding our market area if we ever need to in the future. (The Community Town is now adjacent to the Market, on the North side.)

Village Mascot

Blocked off in his own little cheering section.

~There is a village in the East side of the Market. We have every villager type available for trade. Please respect the area & be careful to close gates behind you so zombies do not gain access to the villagers.
–  There is a little village mascot blocked in next to one of the houses. Please do not disturb as he ‘fan-girls’ his villager buddies. 😉

General info:

A few other details to know about when setting up shop in the Market:

~No big redstone contraptions in the Market (auto-farms, auto-potions, etc).
Simple Redstone powered doors & lighting are okay.

~No Lava or Fire. Our forested market, and your neighboring shops, will thank you for not setting things on fire. 😉

~No Nether Portals. They would all link together & then you’d have the potential of everyone popping into your shop’s storage room.

~If you plan on selling animals or animal products of any kind, you cannot keep your animals at the market. Animal farms are best setup at homes, especially with how far out this Market is from the majority of builds on this server. Do not setup any animal pens in the market.

~Vault Access: You will be allowed a CB setup from your shop to your home or vault (& back). Each player is only allowed 1 CB setup in the market, even if you run multiple shops.

~If you plan on using the Honor System, any stock taken without payment will not be replaced by the admins.

~Pricing is up to you, but keep in mind that most players run their pricing as some sort of “fair trade”. Competing shops are allowed, to help keep the pricing reasonable.

~The Market is not 100% lit up to prevent mobs. Be careful & light up your build as you work (remember the roof).

Finally, have fun!
Get creative, have fun designing & planning out your shop!
The CB to the Market is in the basement of the Command Tower.

*Rules are subject to change by the admins as needed.

One of the nice things we admins like to do for the players is recognize your birthdays. All you have to do is add your birthday in the comment section of our Birthday Doc in the group and on your special day the admins will gift you 30 levels of XP points along with one in-game item from the creative menu.

What we used to do was leave a gift box at your house for you to find the next time you logged on, but we were finding it hard to locate some command blocks, or found that some people just didn’t have one yet. So to make things easier we’re happy to announce that the new Birthday Celebration area is now OPEN!

bday-4

bday-3

You can find the Birthday Celebration display in the picnic area off the West Exit of the Command Tower (near the community garden). How it works is, this Mini Cake building in the center houses 6 separate and personalized command blocks for anyone having a birthday that day.

bday-2

On your birthday, enter the building and press the button for the command block with the sign with YOUR name on it (please do not press anyone else’s). You will be teleported to one of our celebration rooms where your gifts will be waiting. Use the exit command block to go back to the picnic area.

bday-8

Gifts will only be held for 30 days or until the space is needed. You do not have to cash in your birthday books right away if you prefer to save the XP for a later time. Just don’t lose your book (they will not be replaced).

Feel free to use the picnic area to host birthday parties or other celebrations of your own! And as always…

mc-bday

NOTE: In group birthday shout outs are for anyone, but gifts are only available on PC. Sorry console players, we admins have no power off our servers. If you add your birthday to our doc, please note if you are only available on xbox, ps, or pocket editions.

The admin team is excited to introduce the Some Awesome Minecraft Bank! The Bank will allow members of the server to exchange “currency.”  This system grants the community the ability to convert their excess iron into gold or diamonds. If you’ve been down on your luck lately in your diamond mine, the bank will most likely be your favorite new hang out. Iron and gold can also be exchanged for emeralds! The Some Awesome Minecraft Bank does not however accept emeralds for other ores.

GMExchangeRates

The current exchange rates are:

Currency Exchange

1 Iron Block = 1 Gold Ingot

1 Gold Block = 1 Diamond

Emerald Exchange

1 Iron Block = 1 Emerald

1 Gold Ingot = 1 Emerald

bank

The Bank is fully automated. Just visit the bank and head into the area behind the safe door at the back of the building to access the exchange system. Signs are posted to help you as well. You will also find admin bank tellers who will be more than happy to trade with you the old fashioned way. Remember to bank responsibly!
