Birthdays!

You may have noticed we love holidays on our server, and birthdays are no different! Since we have so many new neighbors I thought it would be a good time to go over our birthday policy.

Our old birthday doc is so out of date we have started a new one here. All you have to do to sign up is post in the comments the month and date (mm/dd), your in-game name, your real name. If you are posting for your child comment with their IGN and your name so we know who to tag.

Ex: 11/19: ToRiMiLi – Tonya Morris
Ex: 06/07: LinkMo – (Mom: Tonya Morris)

Even if you signed up on the old doc, we will not be using it anymore so be sure to sign up again on the new one.

Now for the good part. On your birthday we will post a birthday announcement in the group, and on the server you will be gifted a backpack which is extra inventory space. It also acts as a “keep inventory” space so you won’t lose anything should you have a fatal accident in-game. What’s even better is that if you have shulker boxes you can keep them inside with all their contents which gives you even more space!

If you already have a backpack from a past birthday or special event you will receive an additional row, up to six total.

Birthday Gifts!

Inside your backpack on your birthday you will receive a set of power tools (pick and shovel breaks blocks in a 3×3 grid rather than 1×1), a special edition birthday map (different every year), a book that is good for 30XP, a wish item, and a special cake that can be used as a weapon!

Your wish item could be anything from the creative menu including a shulker box, or totem of undying, but you could also request an additional row for your backpack, an extra power tool, an additional set of command blocks (NEW!), or a piece of our new OP birthday armor!

And if you’re not sure what to use your book on, or you’re waiting for a special item in an upcoming update, then just hang on to it. They won’t ever expire. However they are not interchangeable so please do not try to give them to anyone else.

Birthday Backpacks!

It happens to us all, you’re mining along and come across a huge vein of diamonds, but your inventory is full. Now you have to decide what to throw away all the while wishing you had extra inventory space. Occasionally you get a taste of it when our Command of the Week is Enderchest (/ec), but that only lasts a week. IF ONLY THERE WAS ANOTHER WAY!!

Well, now there is…

Introducing, new to our Main and NuNu servers: Backpacks! This is not an actual item to carry in your inventory, one that you could easily lose when you run into a creeper on NuNu. Type the command /backpack into the chat to open up your own personal backpack space! Store items inside to keep them safe in case of death where there is no keep inventory enabled.

Hold up though… we’re not just giving them away all willy nilly. Sorry kids, it’s not THAT easy! Backpacks will now be added as one of your birthday gifts. For those active players who have logged on to the server(s) at least within the past 30 days, on your birthday you will have backpack access and we’re making them retroactive for all of our April birthdays.

Small Backpack

Birthday backpacks start out small, with only one row, but can be upgraded to a maximum of six rows (the size of a double chest).

Extra Large (max size)

If you haven’t had your birthday yet, or it was before April, don’t worry. Backpacks will also be available as prizes for contests, giveaways, and game nights. If you already have a backpack and you win another you may redeem it on the other server or choose to add another row to the one you currently hold. An extra row will also be added on subsequent birthdays until your backpacks are at max size.

By default all backpacks will be given to you on the NuNu server, so if you play more on Main, just let an admin know and we can set you up there instead.

The NEW Birthday EXPerience!

One of the nice things we admins like to do for the players is recognize your birthdays. All you have to do is add your birthday in the comment section of our Birthday Doc in the group and on your special day the admins will gift you 30 levels of XP points along with one in-game item from the creative menu.

What we used to do was leave a gift box at your house for you to find the next time you logged on, but we were finding it hard to locate some command blocks, or found that some people just didn’t have one yet. So to make things easier we’re happy to announce that the new Birthday Celebration area is now OPEN!

You can find the Birthday Celebration display in the picnic area off the West Exit of the Command Tower (near the community garden). How it works is, this Mini Cake building in the center houses 6 separate and personalized command blocks for anyone having a birthday that day.

On your birthday, enter the building and press the button for the command block with the sign with YOUR name on it (please do not press anyone else’s). You will be teleported to one of our celebration rooms where your gifts will be waiting. Use the exit command block to go back to the picnic area.

Gifts will only be held for 30 days or until the space is needed. You do not have to cash in your birthday books right away if you prefer to save the XP for a later time. Just don’t lose your book (they will not be replaced).

Feel free to use the picnic area to host birthday parties or other celebrations of your own! And as always…

NOTE: In group birthday shout outs are for anyone, but gifts are only available on PC. Sorry console players, we admins have no power off our servers. If you add your birthday to our doc, please note if you are only available on xbox, ps, or pocket editions.
